Today I Am…

Thanks to Laura, over at The Laura Way, for this post idea!

Excited about going to visit my best friend on Monday! I don’t get to see her often, and I’m staying through New Years, and the two of us alone are a party, so NYE will be so fun.

Stressed about next semester. I need to get really, really good grades next semester. Also my schedule isn’t correct for the next semester.

Trying to plan out blog posts and figure out how to be more organized in 2015.

Happy to be around family during my absolute favorite time of the year!

Grateful for the generosity of my family and all the things we have given and received around the holidays!

Frustrated that I can’t finish Christmas shopping…I realize Christmas was two days ago, but I still haven’t finished for some of my friends…

Eating nothing currently, however, there is a lot of my candy from Christmas within arm’s reach, and I think I’m about to grab some.

Craving Cookout. It’s this fast-food place by my college that we don’t have at home and that’s not okay. I want some. Now.

Listening to the “Serial” podcast. OMG. Y’all. This freakin’ podcast is insane. I am obsessed. Basically it tells the story of one story, week by week. I don’t know if there are more than just the one I’m on, but it’s so intriguing, please y’all at least look it up.

Reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler. It’s amazing. It’s so good. Go read it.

Wondering if I’m going to ever get all my posts organized and planned out.

Planning posts for 2015? Life for 2015? Not much, considering I’m going to my friend’s on Monday, and I don’t even know what I’m doing for dinner tonight.

Hoping that I can get my crap together for this new year. I believe in myself, and I hope I can get it ll together.

First Fragments

photo (26)Well hello!

My name is Lydia, and this is my (new) blog! I say new because I have blogged before, with a more specific focus, but those blogs were really not right for me. After a two year (or so) break from blogging, I have decided to return to the blogosphere! Well, I haven’t really left, but I wasn’t really active, but I kept up with the blogs that mattered to me.

Anyway, I am returning to blogging (hopefully for good). I am returning for many reasons. As you’ll quickly learn about me, I work best in lists, so here we go!

  • I am returning for professionalism. I want to be a writer when I “grow up” and I think that it’ll be good to have a real idea of my writing when I’m searching for internships and other things within the next few years.
  • I am returning so I can remember. I want to remember my college years when I am old, and it’ll be great to go back and read about my adventures.
  • I am returning because I can’t seem to keep a journal. Like the one before this, I want to record the  little moments, as well as how I feel at certain times.
  • I am returning to write. Writing is what I want to do with my life, and if I am blogging, I will be writing more often.

I feel a great relief in having a blog again, and having a place to record my thoughts and feelings about all that’s going on. I hope to work on a blogging schedule this week!
